SaraFrom the very beginning, my life in Christ was built on a desire to change the world. I was a 3rd or 4th grader taking church membership classes when I heard a teaching about the 12 disciples. I realized their influence had resulted in the beginning of churches all over my hometown of Charlotte, NC. I thought, "If those 12 people can have such an impact, I want to be a disciple like them." I prayed and opened up my life to Christ and asked Him to show me how to follow Him. After studying music education at Appalachian State University, I joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ's High School Ministry (now known as Student Venture). I gave three years to sharing Christ with teens, and then transferred to the Music Ministry (which has also changed its name, to Keynote). I was part of the Music Ministry's national leadership team until I married Tom in 1987. After that I helped lead the Music Ministry Training Center for two years where I helped train musicians in ministry skills. I also took Marriage and Family Ministry classes and did some counseling through Talbot Seminary in La Mirada, California. Tom and I together moved into Campus Crusade's overall national leadership structure in 1989, where I was part of helping several teams with team-building, organizational and structure development, and interpersonal relationships. Our son Jonathan was born in 1991, and he was on almost 50 airplanes before he turned 2 as Tom and I ministered together. Our daughter, Lisa, was born in 1995. Last year I was a parent sponsor of a Christian club (First Priority) at her public middle school and I led a middle school girls Bible Study for 6 months. My ministry focus at this time is in the community as: (1) a prayer warrior for students, teachers, administrators and schools Building people in their faith and encouraging them is my passion. I answered the challenge from Campus Crusade for Christ in 1979 to "Come Help Change the World” and that is what I seek to do as I walk with Jesus and proclaim His awesome works and the message of Christ.
